GV II

House. Mid/late C16, remodelled in mid/late C18. Originally timber-framed. C18 front of Flemish bond brick with flared headers; gabled old tile roof; no stack. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys; 2-window range. Timber lintel over C20 door to left. Gauged brick flat arches over mid/late C19 ground-floor sashes; similar first-floor horned sashes. Raised storey band; C19 moulded wood cornice. Interior: quartered chamfered beams. First floor has 2 studs of transverse timber partition. Collar-truss roof with clasped purlins and curved windbraces: part of 3-bay roof which continues over No.56 (Cherry Pie) (q.v.) to right. Shop early C18, remodelled in mid/late C19. Rendered walls; hipped old tile roof; brick ridge stack. Original plan form unclear. 2 storeys; 2-window range. C20 shop front. Horned first-floor sashes to front and left sides. Interior: chamfered and stopped beams. First floor not inspected but likely to be of interest.
