Description
Numbers 5 and 7, also known as Old Farm Close, is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions likely made around 1808 and later. The building is constructed from colourwashed coursed squared limestone rubble and features timber lintels, an old plain-tile roof, and brick stacks. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall.
The original three-window front on the left includes a plank door located to the left of centre, flanked by three-light casements. The first floor features old leaded casements arranged in groups of three, two, and three lights, with stacks on either side. The added bay to the right has irregular window arrangements. At the junction, the quoin of the earlier range is inscribed with "I.E.D./(?)808".
To the right, there is a further two-window extension that includes a segmental-arched carriage entry on the left, and a door and casement on the right, each featuring a semi-circular relieving arch with a recessed tympanum. This extension has a lower-pitched slate roof with a stone gable parapet. A 20th-century extension is located to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
