Description
Hammers Oxfam Shop is a house that has been converted into shops with dwellings, dating from the mid-17th century, with 20th-century alterations. The building features a rendered plinth and is likely built on a timber frame with a plain-tile roof and a brick ridge stack located to the left of the center. It probably follows a three-unit lobby-entry plan, though this has been altered. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range.
There is a four-panel door with a gabled hood supported by brackets to the right of the center. To the left, there is a sash door with a similar gabled hood, along with a 20th-century at-roofed bow window to the right. The center has a 16-pane unhorned sash window, while there is another 16-pane window to the left of the center. The first floor features a three-light wood casement window to the left and two-light wood casements in the center and to the right. A gabled dormer with a two-light casement is located to the right.
On the right return, there is timber framing with brick infill on the first floor, and a queen post roof truss is visible at the gable end. Inside, there is an open fireplace in the center of the ground floor and extensive beaming throughout. To the left, there is a single-storey-and-attic addition from the 18th century, which has a single-window design, along with a 19th-century shop window on the ground floor and a gabled dormer featuring a three-light casement.
