Description

Kentwood House is a 17th-century farmhouse with alterations from the 19th century, situated on the east side of Westfield Road in Cholsey. The building is constructed of red brick with an old plain-tile roof that is half-hipped to the right. A large brick ridge stack is centrally positioned, featuring two diagonally-set flues facing the front. The plan is of a 2-unit lobby-entry design, arranged as a 2-storey, 3-window range. The central entrance has a 6-panel door, sheltered by a 19th-century open rustic timber porch with a gabled plain-tile roof. Most windows are 16-pane sashes. However, the first-floor centre window is a 12-pane sash. Internally, a ground-floor room on the left has an open fireplace with a bressumer, while a ground-floor room on the right has an open fireplace with a basket brick arch.
