Description
No 35 Hart Street is a 16th century timber-framed building that has undergone later additions and alterations. It features a stuccoed facade and a steeply pitched, irregular old tiled roof. The building has two storeys and three windows. On the first floor, there is a central canted bay with a cornice, a sash window with glazing bars, and a small casement window, likely in its original opening under the eaves. The ground floor has a 19th century shop front and a carriage arch, with timbered walls to the west. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 5 to 39 (odd), the Drinking Fountain, the Parish Church of St Mary, and the raised pavement at the east end of Hart Street, as well as Nos 2 to 8 (even) and Nos 14 to 36 (even), including Adam House and Nos 40, 44 (including gates and piers), 48, No 50, The Old School House, and the Rectory Garden Wall opposite.
