Description
39 Holywell Street is a house and shop that features an 18th to 19th century front on an earlier building that likely has a 17th century core. The structure is two stories tall and constructed from stuccoed rubble, with cellars beneath. It has a projecting moulded eaves cornice and a parapet, behind which are two attic dormers covered by a Welsh slate roof. The chimney stacks are made of brick. The ground floor includes a double shop front, while the first floor has four tall sash windows set in moulded wood frames with cornices, all featuring glazing bars. The building was altered in 1971. It is part of a group of listed buildings on the north side of Holywell Street.
