Description
Magdalen College Cloister, located in the Great Quadrangle, was built in 1475, with the south side completed in 1490. The west range includes the old library, which features a partly renewed timber roof that likely dates from the early 17th century. The exterior of the north front was rebuilt between 1823 and 1824 using Bath stone, while the east and south sides were updated from 1825 to 1827, designed by architect James Parkinson. Some parts of the cloister were refaced in concrete or synthetic stone in 1946, and the south alley was re-roofed between 1921 and 1922.
