Description

HIGH STREET 1. 1485 (South Side) No 61 (Magdalen Gate House) SP 5106 SE 9/401 12.1.54. SP 5206 SW 10/401 II* GV 2. Left Hand No I, Rose Lane. House, facing East. Late Cl8. The East elevation is 3-storeyed ashlar with a pediment, stone bands at lst and 2nd floors and rusticated quoins; there is a moulded eaves cornice and stone-faced stacks. 5 casement windows in long upright frames and having blind boxes and glazing bars. In the tympanum of the pediment is a circular lunette. To the South is a 3-storeyed ashlar extension of lower height. The north elevation has 3 blind windows to each floor and stone bands. Interior includes original doorcases, chimney-pieces and staircase. (This section is now No 1, Rose Lane).

All the listed buildings on the South Side form a group.
