Description
No 8 Holywell Street is a house dating from the 18th to 19th century. It is three stories high and features a stuccoed and roughcast timber-framed front built on a stone base with cellars. The building has a modillioned eaves cornice and a small parapet. The roof, which is not visible, is covered with Welsh slate, and the chimney stacks are made of brick.
On the first floor, there are two sash windows with moulded wood frames, cornices, and glazing bars. The front doorway, which is shared with No 9 to the west, has a modern wood bracketed hood. On the east side, there is a gabled attic dormer and two roughcast projecting stone stacks, which are likely from an earlier construction.
All the listed buildings on the north side of Holywell Street form a group.
