Description

Eastwyke Farmhouse is an early 17th-century building with a T-shaped plan, located on the east side of Abingdon Road. It is two storeys tall, constructed of rubble and ashlar, and features attics beneath a stone slate roof.

The west elevation showcases a large roughcast gable, which may have been rebuilt, and includes a moulded and modillioned lintel over a modern two-light casement window, along with a smaller gabled attic window. The south cross wing has an ancient two-light stone-framed window in the gable, and there is a half-blocked two-light stone moulded window above a doorway that features a rustic porch. The other windows on this elevation are modern. The south wing is highlighted by a massive moulded stone-based stack with a modern moulded brick shaft at its center.

On the east elevation, the north side range has three-light moulded mullioned windows of a plain design, along with one large and two small gabled attic dormers similar to those on the west. The other windows here are also modern, and there is a modern rustic porch at the doorway. The north elevation features a bold projecting stone stack with a modern moulded red brick shaft.

Inside, the farmhouse includes an original stone fireplace.
