Description

The western gatepier, located approximately 20 meters behind numbers 17 and 15 (Cromwell's House and The Manor House), dates from the mid to late 17th century. It is made of limestone and features a square rusticated design with a moulded plinth at the front and rear, as well as a heavy moulded entablature topped with a ball finial. This gatepier is one of a pair and likely served as the entrance to a walled garden, remnants of which still exist. The western pier currently stands in the garden of Cromwell's House.
