Description
Nos 92 and 93 on High Street are late 18th-century houses and a bank, built in 1775 by Mr. J Parsons, partly on the site of George Hall. The buildings are four storeys high and constructed of ashlar stone. The ground floor features rustication with six semi-circular arched recessed windows that have sash frames, along with three doorways that have similar arched heads.
No 92, located on the east side, has four tall windows in moulded stone frames with sash windows and bracketed moulded entablatures, featuring alternating segmental and straight pediments. There is a stone band at the second floor containing five sash windows in moulded stone frames. Above this is a moulded cornice with modillions and dentils, and on the third floor, there are five sash windows in plain reveals with moulded cornices, topped by a small parapet.
No 93, on the west side, is similar in style but slightly lower. It has four tall sash windows on the first floor in plain stone frames with moulded semi-circular heads. Both buildings feature stone stacks with moulded shafts. All the listed buildings on the south side of High Street form a group.
