Description

Christchurch's Peckwater Quadrangle is a Grade I listed building, constructed between 1706 and 1711 by Henry Aldrich, who was Dean from 1689 to 1710, with William Townesend serving as the mason. The south end of the west range incorporates earlier work that was refaced in Clipsham stone between 1924 and 1930. There is a block adjoining the southwest angle of the west range, dating from the 17th century, which has had its east and south fronts and interior remodeled in the early 18th century, with most of the exterior also refaced. The quadrangle features nine wrought-iron lamp brackets with square lanterns.
