Description

The eastern gatepier, dating from the mid to late 17th century, is located approximately 20 meters behind numbers 17 and 15, known as Cromwell's House and the Manor House, in Old Marston. This gatepier is made of limestone and features a square rusticated design with a moulded plinth at the front and rear, topped by a heavy moulded entablature and a ball finial. It is part of a pair of gatepiers and likely served as the entrance to a walled garden, the remnants of which can still be seen. The eastern pier currently stands within the garden of The Manor House.
