Description
Lower Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick in garden-wall bond and limestone rubble, with ashlar and brick dressings. The building features an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks and has a two-unit plan with a secondary range.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window brick front, which includes a dentil eaves course. The central doorway is topped by a 19th-century tiled canopy and leads to a two-light casement. The outer bays contain three-light casements, all of which have segmental arches and leaded glazing. To the right, there is a lower rubble range with a half-hipped roof that extends over a front outshut. The left end wall and the rear of the main range are made of rubble and feature further built-arched windows at the rear, some of which are blocked. The rear of the lower range is constructed of brick. The interior has not been inspected.
