Description
The Manor House Dovecote, located approximately 60 meters southwest of the Manor House, dates from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with some ashlar dressings and features a plain-tile roof. The dovecote has a circular plan and stands two storeys tall. The entrance is framed by a Tudor-arched chamfered stone surround, set beneath a pointed rubble relieving arch, and features an ancient plank door with a heavy chamfered frame. The conical roof is adorned with two gabled dormers and a wrought-iron weathervane. Inside, the walls are lined with stone nesting boxes, and the renewed first floor is supported by a massive circular rubble pier. The roof structure, dating from the 18th or 19th century, includes a shaft and support for a revolving ladder.
