Description

The Paddocks is an 18th-century house located on the south side of High Street in Hook Norton. It is constructed from ironstone faced with ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof with two stone stacks at either end. The building has a double span, M-shaped roof and consists of two storeys plus an attic, with three bays. Both the ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows. The central entrance is adorned with a wooden porch that has a triangular pediment supported by Ionic columns. There is a moulded band that runs between the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected. Historically, the house was known as the Homestall of Anthony Lampett until his death in 1836, after which it became the property of John Wheeler, who rebuilt the house.
