Description

The coach house range to the west of Cross Hill House is a pair of service buildings, likely dating from the mid to late 18th century and early 19th century. Constructed from marlstone ashlar with Welsh-slate roofs, this single range is two storeys high. The symmetrical three-window section of the coach house is probably the older part, projecting slightly in the middle bay beneath a triangular pediment. It features bands that extend from the imposts of the central archway, linking the sills of the segmental-headed two-light casements on the first floor. The outer bays have segmental-arched double doors. The shallow-pitched hipped roof of this section is distinct from a later, simpler three-window range to the right, which connects to Cross Hill House, and a single-storey coach house to the left, both of which echo the window and door details of the main structure. The interior has not been inspected.
