Description
This building is a stable range dating from the early 18th century, located approximately 20 meters south of Two Trees Farmhouse. It is constructed from limestone rubble with wooden lintels and features roofs made of Stonesfield slate and corrugated metal. The stable range consists of a single structure divided into two sections. The taller left section has a stable door flanked by two small windows and a central loft door. The lower section includes another stable door and a plank door next to a three-light casement window. The roof has a stack on the right side and a blocked dovecote in the left gable.
Inside, the taller section has two collar trusses connected by queen posts to dropped tie beams, along with two rows of butt purlins. The lower range features a collar truss and a tie beam truss, with a loft floor extending over the room on the extreme right. This room, accessed from the gable wall, contains a large fireplace, a stone sink, and panelled shutters. The stable range is part of a group of contemporary farm buildings, which adds to its significance.
