Description

Bridge 228 on the Oxford Canal is an early 19th-century canal bridge. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with squared stone used for the piers and coping. The bridge features a stilted and keyed segmental arch made of ashlar voussoirs, along with mid-19th-century brick repairs. The Oxford Canal itself was completed in 1790.
