Description

Box Tree Farmhouse, now a house, dates from 1710, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with concrete lintels, and has a Welsh-slate roof with brick gable stacks. The property follows a central-stair plan. The symmetrical front façade is five windows wide, featuring 4-pane sash windows on the ground floor and renewed cross windows on the first floor. Above the doorway, in the middle bay, is a single-light transom window. The datestone is inscribed "M/WE/1710". A renewed eaves cornice runs along the top. The rear of the property has a central gabled stair projection. The interior has not been inspected.
