Description

Forge Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a thatched roof and brick gable stacks. The building has a three-unit plan with a subsidiary rear wing and is one storey plus an attic. The front has three windows, which include leaded three-light casements and similar dormers. The right gable features a two-light casement. The entrance is located in a remodelled single-storey range that returns on the right side. Inside, there is an open fireplace with re-faced jambs and chamfered beams.
