Description
The facade of the former Cornhill Corn Exchange, built in 1857 by W. Hill of Leeds, now serves as the entrance to the Castle Street Shopping Centre. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a pediment supported by four pairs of narrow Corinthian columns, with blocked arched windows on either side. There are three entrances leading into the shopping centre, and rusticated pilasters adorn the sides. The pediment is decorated with fruit, foliage, and a ram's head. This building was formerly known as the Vine Public House.
