Description
This building is a farmbuilding range located approximately 10 metres south of Dovecote Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble with wooden lintels, featuring light timber framing with brick infill, and has Welsh-slate roofs. The structure is L-shaped.
The 4-bay cartshed has timber framing above its open front, while the sides and rear are made of stone. It has a shallow-pitched roof that is half-hipped on the left side. To the right, there is a lower stable section that includes two stable doors, three windows, and two loft doors, one of which is accessed by brick external steps that also serve the cartshed loft.
The 4-bay barn projects from the right and includes a porch with opposed full-height doors, as well as slits in the other bays. The main roof is half-hipped, while a full hip covers the porch. This unaltered range, along with Dovecote Farmhouse, forms the hub of the village.
