Description

Jersey Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the early to mid 17th century, with additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of limestone rubble, featuring some wooden lintels and squared marlstone quoins, topped with Stonesfield-slate roofs and brick gable stacks. The building has a three-unit plan that has been extended to form a Z-shaped plan, consisting of two storeys plus an attic.

The main front has three windows, with 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, all featuring wooden lintels. The ground floor includes a doorway, a 2-light casement (which was likely an entrance), and another 12-pane sash, all with segmental arches. To the right, there is a lower service wing that extends and returns to the front, featuring an external stair against the front gable wall. A further 18th-century wing extends to the rear from the left and has a 19th-century extension. Both wings contain some 18th-century casements.

Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered spine beams, some of which intersect, along with heavy joists. There is an altered spiral stair beside a large chimney breast and a butt-purlin roof.
