Description
This gazebo, located approximately 7 meters south of Hampden Manor, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and features a pyramidal lead roof topped with a weathercock, showcasing a Baroque style. The structure is one storey high and has a single window range.
Access is provided by steps with moulded treads and a wrought-iron balustrade that includes ball finials and scrolled ironwork. The entrance consists of a 6-panelled door set within a keyed segmental-arched architrave, which is topped with a bracketed stone hood. The windows are six-pane sashes with thick glazing bars, set in semi-circular arched architraves. The gazebo also has a raised ashlar plinth, sill and impost courses, along with a moulded cornice beneath an ashlar parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
