Description

This headstone, located approximately 5 meters north of the chancel of the Church of St. Mary, dates from around 1711 and is made of marlstone. It is designed in a Rustic Baroque style. The small, deeply-carved rectangular stone features a segmental pediment that contains a skull between flaming vases. Below this, there is a projecting rectangular panel flanked by shrouded torch bearers. The inscription commemorates William Min, who died in 1711, and the design is noted for its unusual characteristics.
