Description
Otter House is a former rectory, now a house, built in 1821. The structure features limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and is partly rendered, topped with a Welsh-slate roof that has rendered end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high. The front, which faces away from the road, is symmetrical with five windows. It includes a central panelled door with an integral toplight, sheltered by a shallow stone canopy supported by consoles. The flanking windows are 12-pane sashes, while the first floor has casement windows, all set beneath flat arches with projecting keyblocks. A small brick extension partially conceals the right side of the front. The sides and rear of the building are rendered; the right side features a pair of projecting stacks, while the left side is obscured by a 20th-century extension. The garden front mirrors the entrance front's window style, but the central doorway has an ashlar surround that may be from the 20th century. The roof is shallow-pitched and hipped, with wide projecting eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
