Description

Rectory Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, now a house, located in Oddington. The building is constructed from limestone rubble with a concrete plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. Originally a 2-unit plan, it has later rear wings. The main front has two storeys plus an attic and was originally a 3-window facade. The first floor windows have been replaced with cross windows, the middle and right windows being closer together and set within stone flat arches, while the left window has a wooden lintel. A 20th-century timber sun lounge now largely obscures the ground floor, although a tripartite sash window is visible in the left bay. Low rear wings with casement windows and dormers extend from the main block, flanking a taller, hipped-roofed central rear projection, which likely served as a stair tower and now contains the main entrance and an old cross window. The interior remains unexamined.
