Description
This barn, located approximately 40 meters southwest of Bo Peep Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared marlstone, featuring ashlar and brick dressings, and has a corrugated-asbestos roof. The barn has a five-bay plan with central opposed doors. The front of the barn includes a full-height door with four-course brick quoins, two high-level openings, and several scattered square ventilation openings. The steep-pitched roof is adorned with a toothed brick eaves course and ashlar gable parapets. The rear door is lower and features a brick relieving arch. Inside, the walls are lined with brick, and the trusses have collars and tiebeams, supporting two rows of butt purlins with through tenons, while all rafters are jointed at the apex. The barn was formerly known as Park Corner Barn and may have been built as part of the improvements to the Adderbury House estate under the Duke of Argyll.
