Description

The bridge at Shipton Weir Lock on the Oxford Canal is a turnover bridge built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of English bond brick and features an S-plan design. The bridge has a segmental-arched structure with iron railings that are threaded through wooden posts. The Oxford Canal itself was completed in 1790.
