Description

Farthing Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone with wooden lintels and has a thatched roof, featuring stone and brick gable stacks. The original building comprised two units, with a later garage bay added to the right. The front of the house has a two-window frontage. A plank door is located to the left of centre, covered by a thatched canopy. Flanking the door are two-light casement windows, with smaller two-light casement windows at the first floor. The roof extends over the garage bay, which contains 20th-century doors, likely indicating an extension from a former secondary entrance. The interior has not been inspected.
