Description
Glassocks is a house dating from the late 16th century, originally designed as a lobby entrance house. It was refronted in the early 19th century and underwent further refenestration and extension in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed and features weather-boarding, with a brick ground floor on the right side elevation. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof with gablets and late 16th-century brick chimneystacks. The house is two storeys high with attics and has three windows, including two gabled dormers with 20th-century casements. The entrance is marked by a simple plank door. At the rear, there is a catslide roof and two 20th-century extensions. Inside, the property includes a chamfered spine beam with a lamb's tongue stop, an open fireplace with a salt niche and seats, and remnants of diamond mullioned windows and shutter grooves. The roof structure features queen posts.
