Description
Lomas is a house that consists of two parallel ranges. The front range is a 15th-century open hall house that has had an inserted chimneystack and was refenestrated in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The rear range dates from the early to mid-19th century. The front range is timber-framed with plastered infill and features a tiled roof that is hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with an off-central 17th-century brick chimneystack. The house has two storeys and four windows, which are mainly tripartite sashes. The wooden doorcase includes a dentilled cornice, pilasters, and moulded architraves. The left side elevation has a ground floor of red brick with grey headers and a tile-hung first floor. The rear range is stuccoed and has a tiled roof, a brick chimneystack, and a two-storey canted bay at the right end. Inside, there is an octagonal crown post with four head braces to the collar beam, smoke-blackened rafters, and old floorboards.
