Description
Briars is a house, now divided into a pair of houses, that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with cladding from the 18th century. It has a timber frame, with red brick on the ground floor and tile hanging on the first floor. The building features a lobby entry and has been extended, including a cross-wing. It is two storeys high with a hipped roof and a central right stack, while the gablet of the cross-wing overhangs to the right. The left bay is an addition, consisting of one storey and an attic, with a flat-roofed semi-dormer. There are four wooden casements on both the first and ground floors, along with a boarded door to the left and another to the centre right. The cross-wing on the right has a higher and steeper hipped roof. Some exposed timber framing can be seen in the interior.
