Description
60 to 72 The Pantiles is a range of 18th century houses built in 1746 on the northwest side. These houses are three storeys high and feature a total of 13 windows. Nos 60 and 62 have painted wood fronts designed to look like masonry, while Nos 64 and 66 are covered in stucco. No 68 is fronted with weatherboarding, and Nos 70 and 72 are tile-hung. There is an eaves cornice across the buildings. No 60 has a three-light bay window on the first and second floors, and both Nos 60 and 62 have pilasters on either side. The glazing bars are missing from Nos 64, 66, and 68. No 72 is set back from the others, forming a right angle and does not have an arcade in front. It also has a lower addition with a rounded corner at the back facing London Road. No 64 features a Regency style interior. The group includes Nos 2 to 28 (even) and Nos 38 to 72 (even).
