Description

This is a house, now subdivided, dating to circa 1828 and designed by Decimus Burton. It is of an irregular shape and built in the cottage Gothic style. The south-west front is stuccoed, while the south-east front is faced with weather-boarding. The south-east side has four windows, and the south-west side also has four. A stringcourse runs around the building. The south-west front has four gables featuring scalloped bargeboards, and retains its original glazing bars. The south-east front has two similar gables, but below them, two bays of three windows each have been added on both floors, with French windows on the ground floor. Glazing bars are intact on the first floor of the bays. The north corner of the house has been separated to form a second house called "Rocklea," which incorporates 20th-century windows.
