Description

This is an 18th-century headstone located approximately 6 meters southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas a Becket. It is an upright sandstone slab that stands about 1 meter high. The headstone features a double shaped head that is carved with winged cherub heads. The inscription is bordered by vertical friezes designed with a cable pattern. Although it is inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, the text is illegible due to wear and heavy lichen encrustation.
