Description

This is a late 18th-century headstone located approximately 9 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Thomas a Becket. It is an upright sandstone slab that stands about 1.1 meters high. The top of the headstone is shaped and features carved motifs, including a central oval plaque that appears to depict a lamb surrounded by scrolls, flanked by a crown and a flame. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, including italics, but it is so worn that it is nearly illegible except in perfect lighting conditions.
