Description
The Okill headstone, located approximately 3 meters east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, is a Grade II listed headstone dated 1769 in memory of William Okill. This upright sandstone slab stands about 550 millimeters high. The top of the headstone features a curving design that rises above a carved floral motif. Below this, a fielded panel is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, which records the death of William Okill in 1769.
