Description

Eaglesden is a house comprising two ranges, likely originating in the 15th century with a rear range, and a front range probably dating to the 17th century, substantially refronted in the 19th century. The front range is tile hung and has a hipped-tiled roof with a central brick chimney stack. It is two storeys and attics in height, with four windows. The windows are 19th-century casements with leaded lights on the first floor, and square bays on the ground floor. A 19th-century gabled brick porch has a tiled roof and is topped by repositioned Jacobean carved wooden grotesque brackets. The rear range is timber-framed, demonstrating continuous jetty and framing, including curved tension bracing exposed with plaster infill on the left-hand side. The ground floor on the right-hand side is red brick, incorporating some grey headers and tile hanging on the first floor. This range also has a hipped, old-tiled roof with a central brick chimney stack and two-light casement windows.
