Description
Clayhill is a house dating from around 1700 or earlier, with an 18th-century wing at the rear. It features a timber frame and is tile hung on the first floor, while the ground floor is clad with red brick. The roof is plain tiled, with a lobby-entry plan and two parallel ranges. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a hipped roof on the right side and a half-hipped roof on the left. There is a projecting and offset stack at the left end and a cluster of stacks on the right. The first floor has three wooden casements with 2, 3, and 2 lights, while the ground floor has two 3-light casements and a boarded door to the right, which is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. At the rear left, there is a gabled two-storey wing that also has a stack.
