Description

Highlands House is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with rendered quoins and window surrounds. The building features a moulded eaves cornice beneath a slate, hipped roof, which has tall end and slope stacks, as well as an octagonal glazed cupola on top. The south front has two storeys and a three-window layout, with glazing bar sash windows. There are canted bay windows on either side of the central columned entrance. The return fronts are irregular and include a much later addition. To the east, there is a long, low iron and glass conservatory with a pitched roof, canted end, and cast-iron finial cresting.
