Description

67 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century, with 19th-century alterations. It features a red and blue brick chequer pattern on a deep coursed and galletted stone plinth at the right-hand end, along with a discontinuous brick band. The building has an eaved wooden cornice above a plain tiled roof, which includes a truncated panelled stack at the right end.

The house is two storeys high with irregular fenestration. The first floor has one window at the left end, a blocked window at the right end, a central window that breaks through the floors and band, and another window close to the left on the ground floor. There are two 19th-century doors, both panelled and set within segment-headed wooden architrave surrounds, located at the extreme left and in the centre.

The rear, or river front, is also two storeys and features a modillion cornice and a hipped projecting central bay on the first floor, supported by columns below, which was likely added around 1860-1870. It has glazing bar sashes on both floors, with the left window being larger. The first floor of the projecting bay has cill and impost strings leading to a segment-headed window with stone head-dressing.
