HADLOW CEMETERY LANE Bailiffs Cottage

II Cottage. Probably C18 with late C19 alterations. Timber-framed, some of framing nogged with brick exposed on left end, rest underbuilt with red brick, and above first floor level clad with peg-tile; brick stacks and chimney shafts; peg-tile roof.

Plan: two-room plan cottage facing south west. Central entrance hall. Room to right has rear lateral stack and left room has projecting gable-end stack. One-room plan extension to rear of left end. Two storeys with lean-to outshots rear right.

Exterior: symmetrical three-window front of late C19/early C20 casements with glazing bars. Central doorway contains contemporary plank door behind gabled porch on plain posts. Roof is half-hipped to right and gable-ended to left.
