Description
Bailiffs Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame, with some sections filled with brick on the left end, while the rest is built with red brick and the upper part is covered with peg tiles. The cottage has brick stacks and chimney shafts, and a peg-tile roof.
The layout consists of a two-room plan facing southwest, with a central entrance hall. The room on the right has a rear lateral stack, while the left room has a projecting gable-end stack. There is a one-room plan extension at the rear of the left end. The cottage is two storeys high and has lean-to outshots at the rear right.
The exterior has a symmetrical front with three windows, which are late 19th or early 20th century casements featuring glazing bars. The central doorway has a contemporary plank door set behind a gabled porch supported by plain posts. The roof is half-hipped on the right side and gable-ended on the left. The interior was not available for inspection at the time of this survey.
