Description

The Hadlow War Memorial is a war memorial dating from around 1920. It features a lifesize stone statue of a soldier in a social realist style, depicted in uniform with puttees, a cap, and a bag. The soldier stands at ease, resting on a gun and supported by a rock at the rear. The base of the statue is inscribed with the words "To our Glorious Dead 1914-1919." This statue is set on a stone plinth approximately four feet high, which is inscribed with the names of those who fell in the Great War. Additionally, a tablet on the ground lists the names of those who served in the Second World War, all contained within a square stone enclosure.
