Description

The War Memorial, located on the north side of Stansted Hill, was erected around 1920 to honor those who fell in the First World War. It features a tall square stone pedestal resting on a low plinth, topped by a nude male figure looking straight ahead and holding a palm in outstretched arms. The sculptor of the figure is not known.
