Description

This memorial cross, located about 11 metres southeast of the tower of the Parish Church of St John, dates from around 1867. It is made of freestone and features a tall stone cross with a chamfered shaft and arms, set on a plinth adorned with cusped gables on all four sides. The plinth is elevated on three steps. The inscription commemorates Francis (surname illegible), who died in 1857. This cross is noted as an ambitious Gothic memorial and is one of the earliest in the churchyard.
