Description

Highbury and Ivy Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from the 18th century, located on the north side of Tonbridge Road in Wateringbury. The cottages are built of red brick with blue headers, featuring a moulded dentilled eaves cornice and a plain tiled gabled roof. A central stack is situated between the two cottages. They have a plinth and plat-band.

Highbury Cottage, the cottage to the right, has a three-window facade. It has tripartite sash windows in the outer bays, single sashes in the centre, all set within segmental brick arches. A panelled door is located to the right of the facade, positioned within a flat, pilastered doorcase with a moulded entablature. An open, columned two-bay verandah extends to the east.

Ivy Cottage, to the west, has a two-window facade with tripartite sash windows under segmental brick arches. A canted bay window is present to the left. A central half-glazed and panelled door is set within a flat, pilastered doorcase with a moulded entablature.
