Description
Paris Farmhouse is a house located in East Malling and Larkfield, originally built in the 16th century at the rear, with a front block that was almost entirely rebuilt around 1710. The front block features red brick with a plinth and band, along with orange dressings and panels to the window bays on the brown brick left return front. Large coursed rubblestone chimney-breasts project from both ends of the main front, stepping towards the center and flush with the return fronts, and they carry brick stacks. The hipped tiled roof, which has wide flat eaves, was likely added in the early 19th century. The house is two stories tall with a five-bay front. Above the first-floor windows, there are five recessed rectangular panels, with glazing bar sashes below. The central entrance features a panelled door set in a flat fluted pilastered doorcase, topped by a pedimented entablature with a small modillioned frieze. At the rear, there is a parallel wing that is not as wide as the front block, showcasing exposed framing and plaster infilling, and it also has two stories with irregular fenestration.
